Eggnog with a High Nutrient Density

Between the nutrient dense, grass fed cream and the hearty raw eggs, this Eggnog with a High Nutrient Density recipe is basically a superfood.

sour cream cultured is high in probiotics and healthy fats, which help to improve gut health and reduce sugar cravings. Zinc B vitamins are found in eggs from pasture-raised chickens, and they may help our immune systems (source). Raw egg whites, according to Dr. Natasha, the GAPS diet’s disguiser, help proper cleansing.

Sugar and junk food are ubiquitous during certain seasons of the year, as we all know. This dish is essentially my superweapon for keeping everyone’s minds (and tummies!) happy throughout the cold winter months.

Junk food and sugary sweets suddenly don’t appear as appealing when our bellies are full of all these nutrients!

This vintage eggnog recipe is not just from Nourishing Traditions, but it’s also suitable for the GAPS diet! Continue reading to learn how…

 Making Eggnog Suggestions

Eggnog is a staple of the Christmas season, and creating it at home is a must-have skill for any true gourmet.

  • I use grass-fed cream cultured with kefir to produce sour cream cultured, but you can also culture it with grains and filter them out with cheese cloth. To make the kefir, I put around 2-3 teaspoons of kefir in a jar of cream and let it out on the counter for 48 hours to thicken up.
  • If raw milk from grass-fed cows isn’t available, I’ll use low-temperature vat pasteurized cream from grass-fed cows, which I’ll culture before using. Ultra pasteurized cream is not something I suggest.
  • I love to whip the sour cream cultured with my favorite hand mixer.
  • When it comes to raw eggs, it’s crucial to note that you should only utilize them if you can trust the supplier. I exclusively give my family organic eggs from our backyard pasture grown hens, and I urge you to conduct your own research and do what feels right to you.

What is the composition of eggnog?

Are you curious about the Ingredients in eggnog? I was, too, which is how I first came upon this recipe.

Eggnog was traditionally prepared with fresh cream and eggs, as well as some sugar and nutmeg. I use a similar method, except I culture the cream to add beneficial microbes and use honey instead of sugar as a better sweetener.

During the holidays, eggnog is offered in cartons with little to no mention of how dangerous it might be. The majority of commercial eggnog is manufactured with low-quality pasteurized dairy and ordinary eggs. It’s also usually loaded with sugar and stabilizers, rather than using healthy, natural Ingredients like naturally thick cream and nutrient-dense egg yolks to get that beautiful consistency.

This quick eggnog recipe comes up in just a few minutes and is the ideal complement to any holiday gathering. You can pack a lot of nutrients into a wonderful tasting drink by using sour cream cultured and locally produced raw eggs.

 Is eggnog good for you?

Because it includes a lot of sugar, stabilizers, and low-quality eggs and dairy, commercial eggnog isn’t particularly nutritious. Eggnog may be quite nutritious if you prepare it yourself using high-quality, locally produced Ingredients.

While store-bought eggnog is loaded with sugar and preservatives that will turn your stomach, this recipe will change your mind about eggnog and allow you to enjoy it as a healthy pleasure.

Is it healthy to drink homemade eggnog?

The answer is yes when you pick items from local, reputable suppliers. Eggnog prepared from scratch has a lot of health benefits.

Egg yolks, for example, are high in beneficial elements. sour cream cultured made from grass-fed cows is high in beneficial fats and probiotics. Enzymes and other nutrients may be found in raw honey.

Is eggnog healthy for your stomach?

Traditional eggnog is known for its delicious taste but that tired, bloated feeling in your stomach isn’t so fun. With this Recipe for a healthy eggnog, however, you can be rest assured that you are filling your stomach with a healthy drink.

The probiotics in the sour cream cultured are plentiful, and the culturing process makes it more readily digested. When you know where your eggs come from, you can be certain that they are nutrient-dense and readily digestible.

How do you create a healthy eggnog?

When creating eggnog from scratch, it’s important to do your homework on where your components are from. Store-bought cream, for example, may not be from grass-fed cows. You’re losing out on a lot of nutritional chances if this occurs!

If you can’t harvest the food yourself and are seeking for local, healthful products, the next best thing is to speak to your neighbors!

Here are some good sites to look for local Ingredients:

  2. The possibilities for a healthy beverage with homemade eggnog are endless.
  3. Because eggnog is a typical seasonal drink, it is only available at specific times of the year. You can satisfy any eggnog need with this recipe, regardless of the season!
